How To Keep Your Customers Safe

Automated Door

While it might not be at the top of your list of safety concerns, when you have an automated door that doesn’t work correctly, you could find yourself facing a safety issue. The doors have powerful motors that open and close them, and if the sensors aren’t working correctly, a customer could get hit by the door. The impact could cause them to fall or get caught in the door. To avoid this happening, ensure that you always maintain the door and follow automated door safety compliance rules. If you ever notice any issues with the door, call for a repair right away.

Spills

Whether a bag of sugar breaks open and spills on the ground or someone drops a gallon of milk, you want to make sure that all spills are immediately found and cleaned up. It’s vital that your employees know to never leave a spill to find something to clean it up with. Instead, they should stand over the area and ask another employee for help retrieving the necessary tools to clean it up. If the floor is wet after the spill has been mopped up, make sure that brightly colored signs are placed around the area to alert customers of the danger.

Lighting

While keeping the inside of your business is safe, you want to remember to keep the parking lot safe, too. If you don’t have enough lighting, your customers won’t feel safe going from their car to your business when it’s dark outside. Furthermore, without enough light, it makes it harder for people to see what is on the ground, which could cause them to trip and fall if anything were to be in their way.
